Does anyone have a rough estimate for how many million points it takes to make one decent proto fit? That is how long it will take new players to have a fair chance in Dust.

Getting graduated out of the academy is punishing to new players. Starting sp should go a little further. Maybe battles should be arranged in a risk vs. rewards scenario, where high level players stand to gain very little by abusing the new people...

Armor tanks get double negative from speed penalty AND crappy regen rate. What was the downside to shields? Because last time I checked armor wasn't really much more resistant to damage, and is softer to a greater variety of damage than shields.
